Gary Lee Daniel

Gary Lee Daniel, age 80, of Blue Eye, Missouri.

Gary Lee Daniel, age 80, of Blue Eye, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home July 20, 2022, surrounded by family. 

Gary entered this life on October 31, 1941, the son of Osceola "Jack" & Ruth (Gilliland) Daniel in Corpus Christi, Texas. The family relocated to Johnson County, Kansas, when Gary was a young child. He graduated from Olathe High School in 1959. After high school, he joined the United States Army. Gary ended his service in 1963 with the rank of Sergeant E-5 from the 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Shortly after returning home from service, he met the love of his life, Marla Dee Trager, and the two married on August 29, 1964. They went on to raise their family in the Olathe and Stilwell area. Gary spent his career in carpentry and was a member of Carpenters Union Local 315 of Kansas City, Missouri. In 2005, the couple moved to the Branson area to enjoy lake life in retirement. 

Gary was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and spending time on the water. He was always up for a game of cribbage and liked playing poker and many other card games. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, husband, brother, and friend; the memories and moments created with Gary will be treasured forever. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Marla Daniel of Blue Eye, Missouri; sons: Curtis (Tess) Daniel of Shawnee, Kansas, Charles (Robb) Daniel of Dallas, Texas, Eric (Mindy) Daniel of Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren: Joshua (Sara) Daniel of Olathe, Kansas, Mitchell Daniel of Kansas City, Kansas, Cole Daniel of Kansas City, Missouri, Dylan Daniel of Olathe, Kansas, Ella Daniel of Olathe, Kansas, and Nora Daniel of Olathe, Kansas; great-grandchildren, Lawson Daniel of Olathe, Kansas, and Lainey Daniel of Olathe, Kansas; brother, Rodney (Jan) Daniel of Olathe, Kansas; and sister, Sandra Dawson of Shawnee, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents. 

A celebration of life will be held Saturday 2:00 p.m. August 6th, 2022, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 21155 College Blvd, Olathe KS 66061, with reception to follow.
