Ellen “Ellie” Dunlap, 72, of Kirbyville, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home on August 21, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of a life devoted to faith, family, friendship, and service.
Ellie was born on March 16, 1954, in Chanute, Kansas, to George and Margaret Eggers. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents.
On January 18, 1978, Ellie married the love of her life, James Gregg Dunlap. Together, Gregg and Ellie built a life filled with love, faith, and family. On November 8, 1981, they welcomed their only child, their daughter Cassaundra, who was one of the greatest blessings of Ellie’s life.
Ellie had a true servant’s heart. She spent many years working in the church office, faithfully giving her time and talents to the church she loved. She also served for many years with The Salvation Army, where her caring nature and desire to help others touched countless lives. Serving others was not simply something Ellie did—it was part of who she was.
Above all, Ellie treasured her family, her friends, and her church. She loved deeply and found great joy in the people God placed in her life. Her family was especially precious to her, and she cherished every moment spent with those she loved.
Ellie is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, James Gregg Dunlap; her daughter and son-in-law, Cassaundra and Richie Brown; her four beloved grandchildren, Gavin Brown, Hunter Brown, Richard Brown, and Austin Brown; and her brother and sister-in-law, John and Janet Eggers.
Ellie leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, kindness, and service. Those who knew her will remember the love she had for her family, her devotion to her church, her heart for helping others, and the many lives she touched throughout her years.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that the love she gave so freely will continue through the lives of those she leaves behind.
Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, 2:00 PM , Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth, Mo. Burial will follow at the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson, Mo. Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth, Mo.
6-7 P.M.
Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love will remain in our hearts forever.
