Eleanor Jane Griskell, age 95, of Reeds Spring

Eleanor Jane Griskell, age 95, of Reeds Spring, Missouri, passed away January 31, 2022, peacefully at her home with family near her bedside. She entered this life February 18, 1926, in Chillicothe, Ohio, the daughter of John and Betty (Chapman) Freeman.

With a love for traveling and a house full of children, Eleanor and Phillip did not let that slow them down. They instilled the joys of travel in the children mostly in the western states. While at home, Eleanor cared for her flower gardens and her porcelain doll collection. She soaked in the outdoors whenever there was opportunity but occasionally had to take in the Bingo games available. Most of all she loved her family, investing as much time as possible with her eight children and her loving husband. Many memories and treasured times are in the hearts and minds for recall when times get tough.

Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip Griskell; three sisters: Helen, Delores, and Martha; son, James; and grandson, Gabriel.

She is survived by her seven children: Sandy, Thomas, Laura, Terresa, Cathy, Linda, and Dawn; twelve grandchildren: John Paul, Glen, Dustin, Eric, Christopher, Jessica, Lindsey, Joshua, Grace, Hannah, Anthony, and Alex; two great-grandchildren: Noelle and Arianna; and a host of extended family.
