Obituary

Donald Eugene Marler

May 1, 1940 – December 9, 2022

Donald Eugene Marler, 82, of Cedar Creek, Missouri died on Friday, December 9th, 2022 at Cox-Branson with his family by his side. Visitation will be on Friday, December 16th, 2022, from 2pm-7pm, at the Taney Center in Kissee Mills, MO.

Don was born on Wednesday, May 1st, 1940 to Roy Lee Marler and Effie Hankins at their home in Cedar Creek, MO.  Don worked for Forsyth Lumber Yard, broke horses, cut wood and cedar and then retired from the county. Don married Julia Wilson on October 13th, 1966. They made their home in Cedar Creek. They had two daughters, Gina Browne and Janet Marler.

Don is survived by one daughter, Gina Browne and her fiancé, Mike Flier of Branson; two sisters, Mae Persinger of Carrollton, MO and Tressie Manley and her husband, Ron of Highlandville, Mo; three grandchildren, Ashley Davis and her husband, Jake of Taneyville, Kasey Browne of Branson and Dustin Marler of the home; five great-grandchildren, Trey, Bryce, Aubrey, Paisley, and Tymber (Meathead).

Don is preceded in death by his wife Julia; one daughter, Janet Marler; parents, Roy and Effie; sister, Mildred Schenk; four brothers, Troy Lee, Glendale, CD, Quincy (Coke).

Don was a lifelong resident of Taney County. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, horses and having a cold beer with good friends. He enjoyed listening to his hounds on a hot trail of an old raccoon and going horseback riding. He enjoyed telling stories and always had one to share.

He was a loyal friend and loved his family. There was nothing he liked better than sitting on his porch, listening to his old rooster crow and having his grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing in his yard. He will be missed but there is an amazing celebration in heaven.

Cremation is under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, Mo.
