Cedric was born on Monday, July 7, 1941, in Taneyville, Missouri. to Cedric Sr. and Ina Brockman. He spent his childhood life through graduating high school in Taneyville in 1959. After graduating high school, he spent the summer on the farm and working construction with his father before joining the Air Force in the fall.  After one enlistment, he came back home to Taneyville. Soon after he returned, he moved to Wichita, Kansas and worked as a freight driver and then to Kansas City, Missouri where he worked for Ford Motor Company. However, his heart was always in Missouri. Cedric returned to Missouri and on December 2nd, 1964, he married Martha McHaffie of Taneyville. Cedric and Martha raised three boys, Don, Buddy, and Curtis. They all lived in Springfield, Missouri where Cedric found work at Dayco. Cedric moved his family to Elkland, Missouri in 1972 and then to Niangua, Missouri in 1978 where he bought his dream farm and built the family home.

Cedric was a strong and devoted man. He always stood for what was right and what he believed.  Cedric retired from Dayco with more than thirty eight years under his belt and continued to work the farm right to the end. He was a great father, husband, and neighbor. He passed his values of hard work, honesty and integrity to his sons and grandchildren.  He was always there for his family and friends.  Those of us, who knew Cedric, know the man he was and his hand shake and word was his bond.

Cedric is survived by his wife Martha; his three boys; eight grandsons; one granddaughter, and six great-grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed.
