A woman from Purdy is facing charges from an accident that killed a pedestrian.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 42-year-old Amberel Macdermant is facing a felony charge of Driving While Intoxicated involving the Death of Another from an incident that occurred early Monday evening north of Purdy, when Macemant was driving a vehicle on Farm Road 1090 when it struck and killed an 84-year-old woman from Monett.
Macdermant is currently being held in the Barry County Jail on a 24-hour hold.
This is the 129th fatality in traffic crashes worked by Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2025.
