Firefighters from the Western Taney County Fire Protection District have battled a couple of blazes this week.
Monday morning around 6:00, firefighters were dispatched to Lake Road in Merriam Woods for a structure fire. According to a Facebook post from the district, the fire was quickly brought under control, and no one was injured.
Tuesday, Western Taney County Firefighters were joined by crews from Branson and Southern Stone County to battle a blaze in an abandoned building after nearby controlled burn had spread into that area. The building was located on Highway 165 near State Park Marina. Firefighters were assisted by Taney County Ambulance personnel as well as the Taney County Sheriff’s Office, which had to close Highway 165 for a time during the fire.
Fire officials tell Ozarks First that they had to draw water directly from Table Rock Lake to battle the blaze with no fire hydrants in the area. No one was injured in this fire.
