Harrison Police Chief Chris Graddy has released the name of a man shot and killed by police Wednesday afternoon in Harrison.
Graddy identified the man as 40-year-old David Aaron King of Pine Bluff. King was identified as an absconder from the Arkansas Board of Parole and located at a residence on North Spring Street.
When police arrived at the residence to arrest King, he allegedly brandished a weapon and was shot by a Harrison officer. King was transported to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
King was wanted for charges of kidnapping, theft of property and failure to register as a sex offender.
The shooting is under investigation by the Arkansas State Police.
