Recording Breaking Heatwave to End Soon

The current Heat Wave hitting the Ozarks, which has set some records over the last week, will soon end.

Kyle Perez, forecaster for the National Weather Service in Springfield, says during an interview on KRZK’s “Ozarks Now” program that some of the records set involved Heat Index Readings, which has been as high as 120. Perez explains the reading is based on how the temperature feels on the human body when relative humidity is factored into temperature.

Perez also talked about the dome of high pressure that has settled into the Midwest that has kept the region in the hot pattern.

The good news according to Perez is that the dome is about to shift as another system pushes it to the west which will allow cooler air to move in, sending high temperatures back into the 80s by the end of the weekend.
