Nixa Police Department Looking for Clerks, Space

The Nixa Police Department is looking to hire a clerk while at the same time working on a long-term plan for expansion.

According to posts from the Nixa Police Facebook Page, the department is looking for a Police Clerk that performs a variety of clerical activities in support of the functions of the Police Department including maintaining the evidence/property room as well as producing crime statistics and data for analysis.

Meanwhile, the department is also in need of space. The department shared on their Facebook page a recent story produced by KY-3 News about the departments need to expand as they are short on space for their 42 officers and 50 staff members that serve a community that has expanded in the last 30 from a population of around 4700 in 1990 to over 23,000 today.

Police Chief Joe Campbell and Mayor Brian Steele both tell KY-3 about the need for space but also the need to plan for ways to fund any future expansion.

More information is available on the Nixa Police Facebook Page.
