The Share the Harvest Program continues to help Food Pantries in and around the Lakes Region provide fresh meat to people in need.
Quenten Fronterhouse, Taney County Agent for the Missouri Department of Conversation, says in the latest edition of the Missouri Department of Conservation Podcast, that 400 pounds of Deer Meat was donated to Christian Action Ministries. Fronterhouse says the program, paid for by the Missouri Conservation Federation and White River Valley Electric, allows hunters with unwanted deer meat to have it processed and donated to Food Pantries in Barry, Christian, Douglas, Stone, and Taney Counties.
Fronterhouse also warns people about parking in isolated areas to go fishing, hunting, or hiking after shopping and leaving valuables in sight of potential burglars.
