Drought Levels Steady, Dry Period Continues

Last weekend’s rain around the region was enough to slow rising drought levels according to the latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor.

Most of the Lakes Region remains at the same levels as last week.

In Missouri, Barry County and northcentral Stone County at Moderate Drought Level with Taney County including the Branson area listed as Abnormally Dry and Ozark County currently not at any drought level. 

In Arkansas, most of Carroll County and southcentral Boone County including the Harrison area are at Moderate Level with the rest of area Abnormally Dry.

According to the Drought Monitor, these levels still have a elevated fire risk and some minor impacts on crops.

There has been no rainfall in the region since last weekend and the hot and dry forecast for the Lakes Region continues through next week.
