Drought Conditions Continue to Improve in the Lakes Region

The U.S. Drought Monitor Weekly report continues to show the trend of improving conditions across the Lakes Region.

The most significant change occurs in northern Arkansas, where areas of Boone and Carroll Counties have gone from Extreme Drought to either Moderate or Severe conditions. Much of the remaining Lakes Region including the Branson area remains at the Moderate Drought level with some areas of northern Stone, Taney, and Ozark Counties now at an Abnormally Dry Level. Parts of Searcy County also remain Abnormally Dry.

This trend indicates that while Drought Conditions still exist, the pressure on crops and water systems continues to lessen.
