UPDATE: Injured Firefighter Released From Hospital; Will Return To Work

The Southern Stone County firefighter injured this week when a tree fell, knocking him unconscious, is home from the hospital, and could return to work within days.

Terry Coker was fighting a brush fire in Blue Eye Monday night when the accident happened.

Gyger says the firefighter was wearing his regular helmet which helped prevent any serious injuries.

The Southern Stone County firefighter injured this week when a tree fell, hitting him during a brush fire, is home from the hospital.

Terry Coker was the first on the scene Monday night when the fire broke out near Cow Creek Road and Nature Trail Road in Blue Eye.

The fire chief says Coker was the first firefighter on the scene and was helping direct other crews when the accident happened.  Coker could return to work within days.
