A woman and her pets escaped without injury Monday when fire broke out in the laundry room of a mobile home in Reeds Spring.

Southern Stone County crews report the woman living in the home on Victory Lane was taking a nap while doing laundry, and woke to the sound of a pop and the smell of smoke. 

Firefighters contained the fire to the laundry and bedroom of the home.  The cause was determined to be an electrical short at the dryer connection.
