The City of Branson has created a list of legislative priorities it would like its lobbyist and local legislators to support at the State Capitol in Jefferson City.
The priorities include issues related to tourism promotion, development and local control.
City Economic Development Director Garrett Anderson told the Board of Aldermen this week, the list is much simpler than in years past:

The Branson Board of Aldermen also approved a resolution listing legislative priorities for the Branson Lakes Area Legislative Partnership. The Partnership is a coalition of local communities, counties, chambers of commerce and other public entities in Stone andTaneyCounties. The Branson Board of Aldermen is creating a list of legislative priorities for local lawmakers to look at during the current session in Jefferson City.
Not only does the city have its own list, but board members this week also approved a resolution outlining priorities for the Branson Lakes Area Leadership Partnership.

Board member Mike Booth stressed that the city should be careful not to support any proposal at the state capital that would affect funding for local schools.
