The meth investigation position at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office can continue for another 6 months.
Sheriff Brad Delay says a he has secured a grant for 75-percent of the previously funded level through the Department of Public Safety and the Comet Drug Task Force. The remaining funds are expected to come from the sheriff’s department budget by reallocating funds from other areas.
The meth investigator’s position was lost as of the first of the year when funding from a federal and state grant was lost through budget cuts
Sheriff DeLay says he’ll continue to seek funding to continue the position beyond June 30th of this year.
